With the endless amount of self help books and theories out there, I have to say this book is a fantastic first step. If you feel overwhelmed by it all and wonder where to start, this book is it. I gives both the basic of human nature and a bunch of very practical steps to start your journey of self discovery, fulfilment and lots more happiness. And all in plain language that anyone can grasp.
Let's be honest... The kindle store is full of self-help books. Some of them are great, others not so much. And they all promise impossible change. This book is different. It's not about earning more money or how to be more confident... It's simpler than that because it is about you! Full of genuine tidbits that help you navigate the overwhelming world that is yourself - Where To Start is about doing the little but important things that make you more grounded and relaxed, which in turn leads to happiness and confidence. I see it as a series of tweaks that we can do that will have a massive impact on our lives!
This is a really good self-help book. I mean there are so many of them out there. How many do you actually finish reading? This one is the exception. It has to be the best one out this year. At some point this book will take off. I'm glad I am among the first to discover it. The author really makes you think about your life and puts things into perspective. She made me feel like I can really achieve my dreams. Just get this book now and stop wishing your life would change. Do something about it.
I loved this book because the author's purpose was to distill ideas and thoughts through her own discovery of self help. I love reading self-help books and the author summarized so many ideas into one little book. I liked the way the book was organized with a summary checklist at the end of each chapter of basically actions to follow. Two questions from the book are so relevant to me in everyday life: "Is this thought (or action) helping me or hindering me?" and "Does it matter in the grand scheme of things?" This is a very readable book with very appropriate suggestions for becoming the person you are meant to be.
The author is right, even though nothing in the book is a brand new idea, it is incredibly helpful to have all this amazing info organized and in one place. Reading this was a great spiritual refresher and I highly recommend it!
Who hasn't browsed through a self-help section of a book store or on Amazon and thought, wow, where do I start? There's so much information out there that it can be daunting to know what book or advice to follow. This book breaks down the basics for you if you're looking for ways to make small adjustments to your life. It's the starting point for self-reflection and improvement that can help with many aspects of your life.
I wasn't sure what to expect but I hoped this book would make self-help books a little more "helpful". I have to say it DID!

But, I slowly realized, without dealing with those emotional killers first, I'd never really allow myself to be "helped" by self-help books.
This book reminded me to love me in order to fix me!
